UPWARD FOUNDATION

Upward is the Valley school district’s primary provider of special education, therapy, and childcare for children with severe disabilities.

The Upward Foundation was looking for a partner to help tell its story and spread awareness. Knowing that this was a project of heart, two of us set out to create something special, genuine, and provide Upward with a timeless brand film. The production was nimble, informal, and intimate. It was me and Director/DP Brandon Barnard carrying two lights and one camera going from being flies on the wall in the infant care room to being asked to play by a toddler in the playroom.

Upward Foundation was a Pro Bono project that won GOLD at the 2020 Addy Awards, Phoenix.
